PL: What got you interested in photography?
ML: My interest in photography stemmed from my desire to travel and explore parts of the country I hadn’t yet seen and experienced. Additionally, during the COVID-19 Pandemic, photography provided me with a sense of purpose and in many ways was a therapeutic outlet for me.

PL: What type of camera do you shoot with?

PL: When taking pictures, what are some objects or elements or feelings within a scene that inspire you to take a photo?
ML: As boring as it may sound the first thing that draws me in is the type of the light. I make most of my work during sunrise and sunset, I am a sucker for the quality and fleeting nature of golden hour light. After that I try and make images.

PL: Of the pictures you submitted, can you share an interesting story about one?
ML: There is a photo in the show of a father holding his young son in his arms. They are standing in their front yard, and around them are scattered toys, bikes, balls etc... In the background there is a dog wagging his tail watching on. This photo has stuck with me because of the light, the serendipity of the meeting, the kindness of the man. It was just a great experience.

PL: What do you enjoy most about digital photography and what is challenging about it?
