PL: What got you interested in photography?
GM: I really love film, especially watching film on the big screen. My interest in photography grew out of my love for film. I am always intrigued how images can convey specific narratives.

PL: What type of camera do you shoot with?
GM: Fuji Discovery Zoom/Canon EOS 630

PL: When taking pictures, what are some objects or elements or feelings within a scene that inspire you to take a photo?
GM: I love capturing joy! So when I’m seeing a moment that invokes joy in me or others, I feel the urge to capture it.

PL: Of the pictures you submitted, can you share an interesting story about one?
GM: The picture featured as part of PhotoLounge’s Best of Year show was taken at a Zack Fox’s afterparty. It’s of those in the middle of a party moments where I realized I am having the time of my life and so was everyone else.

PL: What do you enjoy most about film and/or digital photography and what is challenging about it?
ES: I love having to be selective when it comes to film photography. This challenges me to live in the moment and capture what I am seeing.

PL: Do you have any goals or ideas of how you want to grow this collection of photographs?
GM: I think I’m going to focus on capturing some of my favorite artists/dj on film this year! Additionally, I want to shoot more black and white film to building a collection of photographs that feels timeless.
