What We Liked: Night photography offers a lot of different opportunities for creativity, whether you’re taking longer exposures, using your flash, using film that’s more light sensitive, or introducing your own sources of light to a scene. This photo stood out to us for its composition, color, and contrast of light and dark elements. Using only the light provided by the gas station, the resulting image is moody and atmospheric, with the dusky blue sky complementing the red accents. The image emphasizes the aloneness that night can often bring, but simultaneously turns it into something to exciting and inspiring.
