What We Liked: Mistakes are to be embraced; either you learn something valuable, or something beautiful comes out of them. In this photo, we see several exposures layered on top of each other—something that can happen if your film doesn’t advance correctly, or if you reload a roll that was already shot. The product of this mistake is an image that acts like a jumbled memory, capturing the essence of youth and summer adventure. The woman in the car seat immediately draws our focus—clearly recognizable—while the rest of the image asks to be slowly deciphered. The other exposure, showing a man standing in front of a house, is upside down. When rotated, the image begs for a new way of looking.
