(he/him) is a visual artist and Afrofuturist. He grew up in Washington State and currently resides in Rochester, NY where he received an MFA in Photography and related media from Rochester Institute of Technology back in 2020.  He has always had a love for art and science, but initially never thought the marriage of the two would take him into a career as an artist.

Carroll’s work is an introspective landscape to understanding the self and considering questions about who we are, where we come from and how we come to interpret the origins of our realties. In his newest series In the Finite, Infinitely, he builds a world in which the viewer can imagine the possibilities of our futures and the ways in which energies and consciousness are transformed and re-birthed through the various cycles of time and evolution. Using his body as a vessel and conduit for the forces he explores, he invites the viewer to access an imaginative space that these questions inhabit to conceptualize the impossible in order to expand into an evolved state of being.

“Western society has cultivated this sense of being that I don't think is sustainable. I think it's time to shift the paradigm and change the way we collectively think about and experience reality.”

“I am trying to find a balance between the spiritual and existential ideas I'm interested in, and also connect it to Blackness and representation. The cosmos entered into the conversation as the intersecting point of these themes. The synthesis of these ideas formed harmoniously and is fundamental to my understanding of self and the universe.”
