"Be Back By 3 was created out of my homesickness. I spent my first summer away from Philly craving water ice in my tiny apartment with no air conditioning.
Friday and Do The Right Thing were major inspirations for the film visually. I wanted the story to highlight West Philadelphia as a character creating tension between the two leads, Chrirstine and Sierra.
Incorporating locations and cameos like Fred’s Water Ice, the 34 Trolley, and Cuzinn Candyianna, felt essential to capture the atmosphere of West Philly during the summertime. We shot on a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro, and relied on the community to bring the rest to life." - Douglas Williams
