What We Liked: We enjoyed the many interpretations of this theme, but this one caught our eye due to the graceful lens flaring. For some, it’s a mistake to be avoided; for others, it’s an aesthetic choice. Here, the flaring adds an ethereal quality to this spiritual setting, creating an overall warmth and sense of calmness. Additionally, the flares add direction. The large, blown out windows take the stage as the focal point of the photograph, and the flares guide our eyes down to observe the people in the pews. Then, the large columns and vaults guide us right back up.
