What We Liked: This photo stood out to us for the multiple layers of texture it captures. Our eyes are immediately drawn to the soft glowing window panes where branches, both new and old, gently press against the glass. The upper pane provides a clear view, while the lower is frosted and obscured. Framing the image, the painted wood, with its detailing highlighted by the sun, proudly showcases its imperfect brushstrokes. A lot of contrasting textures are ultimately at play in this simple photograph— new growth vs old growth, clear glass vs frosted glass, and wood vs paint.
