What type of theme should the photos I submit relate to?


The purpose of this show is to celebrate student work created during the pandemic. Please submit work that has been created since the beginning of the pandemic, March 2020.

Do the photos need to be taken on Film?


No, there is no requirement that the photos be taken on film.

What is the Student Award?


PhotoLounge's Student Award is a photo lab gift card worth $500, $400, and $300 respectively for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. The receivers of this award will be decided by Stephen Perloff of the Photo Review.

I am having an issue submitting to the form. What should I do?


If you are unable to submit using the Google form then feel free to just email lauren@myphotolounge.com your three photos, your name, Instagram username, the university you are attending and your graduation year.

When is the deadline to submit?


Please submit your photos to this form by midnight on February 20, 2022. If you cannot meet that deadline please email lauren@myphotolounge.com

How many photos can I submit?


We ask that you submit at most three photos.

How should the photos I submit be named?


Please name the file of each photograph you submit with your last name underscore title of the image underscore date the image was taken. For example: mitchell_untitled_2022.

Will I need to pay to submit?


No. PhotoLounge is committed to offer at no cost to the photographers any services related to mounting, printing and scanning that are necessary to produce this show.

Intention of the Show

PL130 Gallery is proud to announce our University Student Show: Photography In the Time of Covid. This show celebrates the work made by college students since the beginning of Covid. Students having to adapt to online learning, needing to move back home, and not having important resources at their fingertips has dramatically impacted and changed the college experience. Because of this, we wanted to put on a show that highlights the creativity and innovativeness students have had to face while taking photos during the pandemic. This show also gives three featured students an opportunity to receive PhotoLounge’s Student Award in memory of Jerry Brown which will be announced at the end of April.

This show will be on view from March 14 - April 24, 2022. A reception is scheduled for April 1, 2022 in the evening.
