Nate Ogun is a 21 year old Nigerian artist from Upper Darby. His set “Proactive” displays his perspective of the black work ethic in America. Proactive focuses on one individual during various work settings. His second set “Foundation” highlights his take on the American dream as a Black individual, he believes “With so much of our history stripped from us in Black Community it's important to set a new foundation to support ourselves through life”. Foundations that express a sense of community. In general Nate's inspiration comes from people he grew up with and their experiences as well as artists from other countries like Mowalola Ogunlesu (Nigeria) or James Jean (Taiwan). Most of his inspiration for this exhibition’s work came from his local circle. Plans to go wherever his work takes him. Does not say no to opportunities.
